Our story

Two friends, a shared love of ponies and a bit of a crazy idea...

Hello! We’re Holly (11) and Sadie (15), two horse-mad friends from Scotland. Neigh Mare started because, like most girls with ponies, we were always finding things we wanted to buy for them!

 We decided to start a business to fund the hobby we love.. We wanted to create something we'd love to use ourselves, and that other horse-mad girls would love too. So we came up with the idea for Neigh Tangles, persuaded the Bank of Mum and Dad to lend us £600, and got to work.

The result was a mane and tail detangler that actually works, smells amazing and looks gorgeous in our grooming kits. Nothing childish though, just a little bit of luxury for the ponies we love.

And being Scottish, we couldn't resist a little play on words. 'Nae' is a Scottish way of saying 'no', which is where Neigh Tangles got its name. 

We were so happy when tack shops started stocking our product, and now Neigh Tangles is flying off the shelves and keeps selling out online! We’ve even paid back our loan, and we're working hard to make lots more bottles so everyone's ponies can smell as gorgeous as ours!

Things got even more exciting when we took Neigh Tangles to BETA International, a big equestrian trade show where we got to pitch our business at Mustang's Corral, a bit like Dragon's Den for horsey businesses! It was scary but brilliant and all three of the Dragons (Mustangs) believed in our business enough that they agreed to support us. 

Neigh Tangles is just the first product in the Neigh Mare range. We’ve got lots more ideas, and we can’t wait to share them with you. In the meantime, we really hope you and your ponies love Neigh Tangles as much as we do!

Whatever happens next, Neigh Mare will always be about the things that brought us together in the first place. Our love of ponies, our friendship and the belief that you should never be afraid to have a go. Because good things happen when horse girls stick together.

Meet the Neigh Mare Team

Of course, none of this would have happened without our ponies! So we thought we'd introduce you to the whole team...

Holly & Norman: Holly (11) is one half of the Neigh Mare founding duo. She's thoughtful, caring and loves spending time with Norman, her calm and gentle pony who is always up for a cuddle. They love nothing more than heading off for a hack together through the beautiful woods near their home.

Sadie & Honey: Sadie (15) is the other half of Neigh Mare and a keen Pony Club member who loves getting out and about competing with Honey. She's a confident rider who enjoys jumping, and Honey is her sweet pony with a kind heart and gentle soul. They're best friends and make a brilliant team!

Mr Ziggy: And then there's Mr Ziggy! A cheeky little Shetland with a BIG personality. He keeps everyone smiling with his playful spirit and is convinced he's the one in charge!
